I feel it’s time for an update.
The goal of the triathlon is to raise money for our beneficiaries (Northwoods Veterans Post & River Bend Trail) while promoting physical activity. This race is a City of Merrill Parks and Rec activity and falls under any guidelines issued by Fed, State and County authorities with regards to Covid19. Bottom line, it’s still to early to determine if this activity would be considered safe. The Park & Rec director have begun some informal discussion as to your options. The safety of our volunteers and participants is our top priority. If it is not considered safe to hold this event, then we have begun to look at the possibility of doing this race virtually.
This would be done by communicating your times on a similar “course” to us and you would receive recognition, a participant’s medal, and any swag (like the cool socks we have planned). We are also discussing the options for those who have signed up but decide they would rather not do the race virtually.
Options being considered for those opting out would be 1) refund (minus processing fee) 2) Donation to beneficiaries.
